Advising for the Good of All
The Saint Francis of Assisi Advisory Council is similar to the School Boards of the public schools yet different in that the Advisory Council is advisory in nature and not regulatory.
A. The Advisory Council derives its authority from the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Jackson and is a ministerial agency of the Franciscan Friars of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Province and St. Francis of Assisi Parish. This Advisory Council is advisory in nature.
B. The Advisory Council will promote the aims of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School as expressed in its school philosophy. The Advisory Council will assist the administration and instructional staff of the school in strengthening the educational program of the school.
C. The Advisory Council will provide a forum for the discussion of policies, plans and problems in St. Francis Catholic School, and its members will assist and develop means of promoting Catholic Education.
